NYC is the emerging center of the cybersecurity boom. Cyber NYC is leading the way in growing the industry in this city by creating the spaces, training the talent, and recruiting the knowledge and capital needed to grow the cyber ecosystem and catalyze the next billion-dollar company.

We’ve already made great strides toward the fulfillment of this vision, including:

  • Launching Inventors to Founders, an early-stage startup and talent accelerator, in partnership with Columbia Technology Ventures
  • Opening an accelerator and “Scalarator” program in SoHo, in partnership with Israel-based global venture capital firm Jerusalem Venture Partners
  • Training the next generation of cybersecurity talent through a $7.8M partnership with Fullstack Academy, one of the longest-running and most successful technology bootcamps in the nation
  • Hosting the NYCx Cybersecurity Moonshot Challenge, which sought to find solutions to make every small and mid-size business NYC business as resilient to cybersecurity attacks as a Fortune 500 company—garnering a record-breaking 169 applications from over 15 countries and over 75 cities

Inventors to Founders (I2F) Initiative

Operated by Columbia University - This program is not currently active
I2F was designed to launch new, university-affiliated cybersecurity startups and commercialize cutting-edge academic research. The program was open to all students, faculty, and alumni from the consortium of Cornell Tech, CUNY, Columbia, NYU, and Fullstack Academy. The program:

  • Connected pre-seed cyber startups with capital, grants, mentorship opportunities, and leadership networks at the university partners, NYC government, and more
  • Transformed intellectual property into viable startups by connecting the academic community with C-level operators and entrepreneurs who could take it to market
